The College of Engineering and Computing at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) invites applications for an open-rank faculty position (tenured, tenure-track, or non-tenure track) in the field of semiconductor engineering. Missouri S&T is making a twenty-million-dollar strategic investment in semiconductor technology, which includes plans for a new multidisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree in Semiconductor Engineering. We are also establishing a ~3000 square foot cleanroom facility that will be used for both research and education. We are seeking a highly qualified individual with hands-on experience in semiconductor fabrication, whether from an academic or industry background. The individual appointed to this position will be expected to lead and develop our new semiconductor engineering program, elevating it to national prominence.
Depending on the candidate’s background and expertise, the position will be housed in either the Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Departments, which are the anchor departments for our new semiconductor engineering initiative. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in semiconductor engineering and related fields, fostering a dynamic learning environment for students. Candidates considered for tenured/tenure-track positions will have demonstrated capability to conduct cutting-edge research. Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in semiconductor engineering and related areas.
Leading and coordinating initiatives to elevate the program to national recognition.
Championing recruiting and enrollment efforts.
Mentoring and advising students.
Developing and enhancing the semiconductor engineering curriculum.
Collaborating with other faculty members and departments.
Supporting innovative research in semiconductor fabrication (primarily for tenured/tenure-track positions).

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Semiconductor Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field and/or an advanced (MS) degree and significant industry experience.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to develop and implement academic programs.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in semiconductor fabrication.
Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A strong track record of research and publication in semiconductor engineering (primarily for tenured/tenure-track positions).
