SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Adjunct Faculty are instructional personnel whose services are contracted on a semester/term by semester/term basis. The workload is limited to two course sections per semester/term, unless three course sections are required to meet the needs of the students and/or College. Adjunct Faculty are paid by the credit hour.  

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The most important overall responsibility of all RCBC employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students, members of the college community and the public.
 
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation of student outcomes assessment efforts of the faculty in planning, collecting data, and reporting dates as they relate to course outcomes, program outcomes, general education outcomes, and developmental program outcomes. Actively participates in setting annual division goals and objectives, completing OIR reporting forms, collecting data, analyzing data, and preparing a report using guidelines established by OIR.Must be able to teach full series of lecture and practical lab courses in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program. Concentration includes, but not limited to, Mechanical Design, Engineering Statics, Material Science and Manufacturing, CNC Programming, Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Energy, Heat Transfer, and Advanced Manufacturing.

EDUCATION
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology OR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology AND a professional engineering license required or two years of relevant work experience. 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Knowledge of and/or experience in basic mechanical systems, machine design theories, and lab instructions
• Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Understanding and preparedness to respond aptly to the needs of a diversity

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

• Industry experience
• Knowledge of electronics, Electromechanics, Manufacturing and instrumentation
• Community college teaching experience
• Online teaching experience
• Curriculum assessment
