Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty members tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.
Position Overview
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in any area of organic chemistry. The new faculty member will join a highly innovative, interdisciplinary community on the main campus in Columbus, Ohio. Our outstanding facilities, including state-of-the-art NMR spectroscopy (up to 1.2 GHz), mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, and a supercomputing center, as well as top materials science, engineering, biology, and medicinal colleagues, offer numerous opportunities for collaboration and advancement of research programs.
Education and Experience Requirements
A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field is required at the time of appointment. The position will begin in Autumn 2025. Demonstrated potential excellence in highly innovative research and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring are essential. Outstanding applicants in all areas of organic chemistry will be considered. Appointment is contingent on the universitys verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
